Francisco AlvaradoHello, I am Francisco Alvarado, founder and owner of Marand Builders. In 1999, armed with an Electrical Engineering degree, 14 years of business experience with Hoechst Celanse and a restless Entrepreneurial spirit, I decided to embark in a new venture and Marand Builders, Inc was established.

Since the conception of Marand, our goal has been to understand the individual needs of our customers and provide them with a customized solution. We have built our reputation on reliability, attentiveness and quality of execution. We succeed when each and every project our clients do with Marand is the best construction experience they have ever had.

We started in Charlotte, NC, but rapidly expanded to cover the Carolinas, the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast US regions. We have offices in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Our team of highly talented professionals has allowed us to become prefer vendors with many of our clients, exceeding 90% repeat business. Marand specializes in serving the Financial Industry, Healthcare and Commercial Retail/Offices spaces.

Executive Profile

Mr. Alvarado graduated from Louisiana State University in 1983 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. Formosa Plastic Corporation in Baton Rouge, LA was his first employer, where he worked as a Project Engineer in the generation and distribution of power systems.

In 1985 Francisco was recruited by Hoechst Celanese, Delaware as a Senior Electrical Engineer for design and construction of capital projects. Due to his managerial ability and fluency in three languages (Spanish, German and English), he was promoted to Hoechst’s headquarters in Germany, where he resided for the next eight years and managed business worldwide.

In 1995, Mr. Alvarado returned to the US as a Hoechst Celanese Business Director of North America. After 14 years of corporate experience, Francisco decided to start his own business in construction. In 2000 he founded Marand Builders, Inc., a full service Commercial General Contractor. The firm’s approach to the market is: ”Marand is a service company that so happens to be in the construction business”.

For the last 17 years Francisco has been successfully running Marand as its President and CEO. The original geographical service footprint was Charlotte and has grown to cover the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast region plus Texas. Marand specializes in the financial and healthcare markets.

Mr. Alvarado is actively involved in the community as a Board Member of the Charlotte Chamber, Board Member of the Opera, Board Member of Charlotte Leadership Executive Council. Was previously involved in the boards of CBI, LDI,  LACC and others. In addition, Mr. Alvarado is pleased to announce the establishment a scholarship fund for Engineering students administrated by LAWA.
